The Clever Crow/The Thirsty Crow
On a hot summer afternoon, a crow was flying around in search of water. He had flown a few miles in the hot sun. He was very tired and thirsty. He looked around but could not find any leaking tap or puddle. He sat atop a tree and wondered where he could find water. Suddenly, he noticed a pitcher and flew towards it, hoping to find some water. There was some water at the bottom of the pitcher, but he could not reach it. He looked around and saw some pebbles lying in a corner. Suddenly, he had an idea. One by one, he picked up the pebbles in his beak and dropped them in the pitcher. Gradually, the water began to rise. When the water reached the brim the crow could reach it with his beak. He drank it and was satisfied. He got his strength back and flew away.Moral: Where there is a will, there is a way.प्यासा कौआ {The Thirsty Crow (Hindi Story)}
एक दिन गर्मी की दोपहर थी सूरज तेज़ चमक रहा था एक कौआ बहुत देर से पानी की तलाश में उड़ रहा था वह बहुत थक चुका था और उसे बहुत प्यास लगी थी उसने चारों ओर देखा, लेकिन कहीं भी नल से टपकता हुआ पानी या कोई गड्ढा नहीं दिखा।
वह एक पेड़ की शाखा पर बैठ गया और सोचने लगा कि अब पानी कहाँ मिलेगा तभी उसकी नज़र एक घड़े पर पड़ी वह तुरंत उड़कर घड़े के पास पहुँचा उम्मीद थी कि उसमें थोड़ा पानी मिलेगा।
कौए ने देखा कि घड़े में सच में पानी था, लेकिन बहुत नीचे वह अपनी चोंच से पानी तक नहीं पहुँच पा रहा था उसने चारों ओर देखा तो पास ही कुछ छोटे-छोटे कंकड़ पड़े थे तभी उसके दिमाग में एक उपाय आया।
उसने एक-एक करके कंकड़ अपनी चोंच से उठाए और घड़े में डालने लगा धीरे-धीरे पानी ऊपर आने लगा कुछ देर बाद पानी घड़े के किनारे तक पहुँच गया कौए ने खुशी-खुशी पानी पिया, उसकी प्यास बुझ गई और उसे फिर से ताकत मिल गई वह आसमान में ऊँचा उड़ गया।
